CITY'S TOP LAWYERS REPRESENT NOTTINGHAM AT LAW SOCIETY'S TWINNING EVENT IN KARLSRUHE, GERMANY.

A group of five top lawyers from one of Nottingham’s longest established law firms, Rothera Dowson Solicitors, have returned from Germany after representing the city in the Nottingham Law Society’s twinning conference in Karlsruhe.
Partner Jayne Smith; Associate Neil Etherington; Solicitors Daniel Harley and Beth Jinks; and Senior Partner Christine Doughty represented Rothera Dowson at the annual get-together. The aim of the event is to bring together legal professionals from across Nottingham, Karlsruhe and Ghent (Belgium) – Nottingham’s twinned cities – to celebrate best practice, discuss changes in national and international law and build closer relationships between the twinned cities.
Partner Jayne Smith, wills, probate and trusts specialist at Rothera Dowson and member of the International Committee charged with organising the twinning event in 2012, when Nottingham will play host, explains: “Attending this event continues to be a very worthwhile experience for members of the Rothera Dowson team, especially the junior solicitors. Not only has this trip helped us to bridge the gap between Nottingham’s twinned cities by building closer relationships with our Flemish and German counterparts, it’s enabled us to share expertise with other law firms from Nottingham and beyond.”
