19/10/2009
Rothera Dowson’s commercial property team head and Territorial Army Lieutenant Colonel, Tom Redgate, has been promoted to the rank of Colonel in the prestigious Corps of Royal Engineers.
This role, which is the top TA job in the Regiment, will see Tom as the TA advisor to the Engineer- in-Chief of the Army, a post he will take up in Spring 2010.
Tom, who in his day job leads a team of specialist lawyers advising businesses on commercial property law, previously commanded 73 Engineer Regiment (Volunteers) from its Nottingham based headquarters.
“The TA has made a significant contribution to the Army’s operational output in recent years, during which time I have seen the Army’s regular and reserve elements grow ever more integrated,” explains Tom.
“Having had the support of Rothera Dowson’s partners for my reserve forces activities since joining the firm, I believe that ‘service’ is part of the firm’s ethos.”
Tom is not the only partner at Rothera Dowson who restricts service to his day job. The firm’s senior partner, Christine Doughty serves as a Deputy District Judge and its managing partner Amanda Redgate is Deputy Registrar of the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham.
