NOTTINGHAM'S FINEST REVS UP LEGAL 500

07/10/2009

Leading Nottingham law firm Rothera Dowson has once again excelled in the annual Legal 500 Report.  The 2009 edition recommends the firm for seven areas of work with the transport department earning the highest possible accolade and being cited as setting “the benchmark nationally for advice in all areas of transport”.

Rothera Dowson has over 50 years transport industry experience so is perfectly placed to offer specialist advice on issues such as obtaining and preserving an Operator’s Licence, the defence of prosecutions, representation at Public Inquiry, VOSA investigations, conditions of carriage and contractual disputes.

Anton Balkitis, who recently succeeded Ian  Rothera as department head, states:

“We have an exceptionally strong transport and motorist defence team here and our results speak for themselves.  It is a great achievement to be recognised as being in the highest echelon of our field and it’s somewhere we will be striving to stay”.

Other members of the Rothera Dowson team singled out for praise in this year’s report include senior partner Christine Doughty, who heads the firm’s family and matrimonial department and another of the firm’s partners, Richard Hammond, who heads Rothera Dowson’s commercial litigation team.

The Legal 500 points out that “the redoubtable Deputy District Judge Christine Doughty has an outstanding reputation as a child care specialist” and notes some of Richard’s client references including “it is great to know you have the back-up of a real legal eagle” and that he is “successful every time”

Rothera Dowson is based in five offices across Nottingham and operates in a wide range of individual and commercial areas of law.  This year’s Legal 500 Report recommends it for the following types of work:

  • Agriculture and estates
  • Charities
  • Commercial litigation
