£1000 raised for Treetops Hospice

10/01/2007

Partners and staff at Rothera Dowson, one of Nottinghamshire’s leading law firms, presented a cheque for £1000 to Treetops Hospice in Risley yesterday.

Treetops Hospice is Rothera Dowson’s Charity of the Year and the money presented to their Fundraising Team has been raised since September 2006 through donations in lieu of Christmas cards, a raffle for a day off work, and the sale of handmade Christmas cards by one of its members of staff.

Founded in 1984, Treetops Hospice is a registered charity providing care for adults with potentially life shortening illness in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. The hospice provides home-care and respite day-care services to help patients remain in their own homes. They are currently raising funds via the Ripple Appeal to build a new Care & Education Centre. Their existing building limits their day-care provision, and they are looking to build a new, purpose-built centre on the site. This will enable hundreds more patients to access their services each year, and provide a much wider choice of therapeutic activities. They need to raise over £2.5 million to build this centre and Rothera Dowson is committed to raising as much money as it can to help.
