New Approach to Divorce

12/01/2007

Rothera Dowson, one of Nottinghamshire’s leading law firms, is pleased to announce that Associate Family Solicitor, Lorna Sear, has recently qualified as a Collaborative Lawyer.

Sadly, many of us now experience the pain of separation and divorce, and all of the stress that follows in trying to sort out new arrangements for children and finances.

The Collaborative Law approach enables couples to sit down together, in the presence of their solicitors and work things out face-to face, all committing to work together to reach the best possible solution for the family. Couples who choose to commit to the Collaborative process continue to benefit from having their own independent legal adviser but can expect to set the agenda themselves and work at a pace with which they are comfortable. They commit to disclose information about their financial positions fully and honestly and to openly talk about the issues that matter to them.

The cost of separation and divorce cannot be counted in purely financial terms and with so many relationships ending in separation and divorce, Collaborative Law offers couples a genuinely new and, for some, an improved way to find solutions.

With only a handful of Solicitors in Nottingham qualified in specialised area, Rothera Dowson is proud to be one of the firms able to offer this service to its clients.
