Regulatory Compliance
All road hauliers and passenger carriers depend for their existence on an Operators Licence issued by a Traffic Commissioner. The regulatory licensing system is strictly enforced. Failure to comply with Licence conditions and undertakings is likely to result in disciplinary action, which will involve curtailment (reduction of authorised number of vehicles), suspension or at worst a revocation of the “O” Licence. No Licence = No Business.
To help Operators keep on the straight and narrow, we conduct “O” Licence Compliance Reviews, by visiting clients at their own premises in order to discuss all aspects of their Licence conditions. We will raise many issues which from experience we know can result in disciplinary Public Inquiry. We will offer advice and guidance on any aspects which seem to us to be going wrong, often it will only be relatively minor matters, but sometimes we will detect something much more significant. Usually the Operator will have been quite unaware of a problem that we pick up on, and so can take action to put it right before it comes to the attention of the authorities.
Our Compliance Reviews have been welcomed and well received by many of our Clients, and hopefully we have helped to reduce the risk of a call-up to a Traffic Commissioner’s disciplinary Inquiry.
The reviews are designed to be both Prevention and Cure, so play safe and contact the Rothera Dowson Transport team for details of our “O” Licence Compliance Review Service.
